Biography
Hugo Prieto Ramos joined BMC in 2024 after graduating from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid with a dual degree in Business Administration and Data Analytics. His training combines the rigour of classical financial analysis with data science tools — a combination that proves particularly valuable on a corporate advisory team where M&A processes generate growing volumes of information that must be processed quickly and accurately.
In his two years on the corporate advisory team he has contributed analytical support to more than fifteen M&A processes at various stages, from the preparation of marketing materials through to due diligence. His main areas of contribution include sector research, financial projection modelling, market comparable analysis, and the preparation of presentation materials for clients and counterparties.
Sector research occupies a significant part of his work: he builds competitive maps, identifies consolidation trends in target sectors, and compiles precedent transaction data that serves as a pricing reference in the processes in which the team participates. That capacity for synthesis — translating large volumes of market data into coherent, actionable narratives — is one of the elements most valued by the senior team.
In financial modelling, Hugo builds the projection models that underpin vendor information memoranda and buyer presentations, including base, upside, and downside scenarios. His data analytics background allows him to bring quantitative tools to the team’s workflow, improving efficiency in the handling and visualisation of large volumes of financial information and automating processes that previously demanded significant manual effort.
A growing part of his work involves the preparation of pitch materials and executive presentations, where the ability to communicate findings clearly and visually is as important as the underlying analytical rigour. He works with data visualisation tools and is fluent in the formats and standards expected by private equity funds and strategic buyers in competitive M&A processes.
Hugo is currently supplementing his training with specialist reading in valuation and advanced corporate finance. His joining the team is part of BMC’s commitment to developing its own analytical talent from early career stages, with the medium-term objective of building professionals who combine a strong technical foundation with deep knowledge of the Spanish middle-market M&A landscape.
He speaks Spanish and English to a professional level, enabling him to participate without restriction in processes involving English-speaking counterparties, advisers, or funds.
