Biography
Teresa Galan Montes has been with BMC for three years, joining in 2023 after completing her university studies at the Universidad de Málaga. She manages the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of SME clients: recording issued and received invoices, carrying out periodic bank reconciliations, scheduling supplier payments, and monitoring outstanding receivables.
A significant part of her work is managing the SII (Immediate Information Supply), the system for maintaining VAT record books on the Spanish Tax Agency’s electronic platform. She ensures that information submissions are made within the required deadlines — 24 hours for issued invoices, four days for received ones — and reviews any discrepancies returned by the tax authority’s platform, acting swiftly to resolve them before they generate formal requirements.
She works with several ERP systems and cloud-based accounting platforms, adapting to whatever system each client already has in place. In recent months she has developed her use of invoice automation tools, which has allowed her to reduce processing times for higher-volume clients. Her approach is precise and deadline-focused: in day-to-day accounting, errors and delays have an immediate impact on cash management and tax compliance, and she keeps that reality front of mind in her daily work.
The day-to-day accounting that Teresa performs is the foundation on which all tax returns and financial statements are built for the firm’s clients. Without clean, accurate, and up-to-date accounting records, the work of tax technicians and internal auditors loses quality and compliance deadlines are put at risk. Her role may appear operational, but its real impact on the quality of the service BMC delivers to its clients is direct and significant.
She holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Málaga. She speaks Spanish and is expanding her training in applied taxation to complement her accounting foundation with greater knowledge of the tax implications of the work she performs every day.
